The St. Martin’s Fund: A Tradition of Excellence

St. Martin's Episcopal School, like all independent schools, operates without the benefit of revenue from local, state or federal taxes and is responsible for its funding. Tuition and fees which are fully taxable, provide most of the revenue needed to educate students. The balance of the operating budget comes from gifts to The St. Martin's Fund.
St. Martin’s boasts the strong support of The St. Martin's Fund with a proud tradition of 100% support from trustees, faculty and staff members. In addition parents, grandparents, corporations, foundations and friends of the school provide annual support. Your unrestricted donation to The St. Martin’s Fund is vital to the continued strength of the school. Our strengths are the attributes that drove you to choose St. Martin’s: nurturing family atmosphere, talented teachers who care deeply, advanced curriculum to challenge students and dedication to the whole child.

The operating budget funds St. Martin’s most immediate and recurring needs, such as teacher salaries, educational supplies, and programming. We depend on each family to support the school by making a generous, tax-deductible annual gift.
Our team of parent volunteers will be calling members of the St. Martin’s community for their support of The St. Martin's Fund - the school’s largest annual fundraiser. We ask that each member of the St. Martin’s community gives generously.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 3 frequently asked questions.

  • How does my child benefit from my donation?

Your gifts support everything that makes St. Martin’s special. This means small class sizes, attracting and retaining the best teachers, and providing exceptional academic and co-curricular program offerings in a nurturing, Christian, environment. This translates to personalized attention, increased intellectual stimulation, better discipline, and academic credentials that will follow your child throughout their life.
  • Why do we strive for 100% parent participation in The St. Martin's Fund?

Your gift to The St. Martin’s Fund supports all the things you love about St. Martin’s. The higher the participation, the more we show that the St. Martin’s community is committed to the mission of St. Martin’s and worthy of outside support from grant-making organizations. It is also one of the barometers used to evaluate parent satisfaction by accrediting bodies such as Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and Southern Association of Independent Schools. Our school boasts a strong tradition of reaching 100% trustee, faculty, and staff giving and encourages 100% parent participation annually.
  • Why doesn't tuition cover all the expenses of the school?

As is the case with most independent schools, tuition does not cover the total cost
of educating each student. Contributions to The St. Martin’s Fund make up the
difference needed to cover the actual cost of operating the school. Augmenting
tuition through charitable gifts helps keep tuition at a competitive rate and provides
many important programs and improvements that are essential to our mission.
Unlike tuition, gifts to St. Martin’s are fully tax deductible.
