Explorers Extended Day

St. Martin's offers much more beyond the regular school day through our Explorers before- and after-school childcare and enrichment program. The Explorers program is fully licensed by the Georgia State Department of Human Resources "Bright from the Start" program, meeting all state requirements for childcare programs.

We offer:

Before Care on Wednesdays only beginning at 7:45 a.m.
After Care
Enrichment Classes
Lower and Middle School transfer to Early Childhood for sibling pick up.

Students may remain at school in the Explorers program until 6 pm. Explorers Extended Day provides a safe, friendly and comfortable environment.

Dependent Care Tax Reimbursement

How to obtain receipts for taxes and Dependent Care Reimbursement

If you have a Dependent Care Reimbursement plan and need a receipt for summer camp, enrichment classes and/or Explorers after care, please find the session you need by following the procedures listed below.

Log into your FACTS account and choose the option to View Details.
Choose View Payment Summary.
Select the year 202X in the drop down and click Print. Note our Federal Tax ID prints in the top right corner of the report. Federal Tax ID: 58-1495174
Alternatively, to print only Explorers information, select Transactions and use the drop down boxes to filter the specific Explorers information desired. This will show the Dates in Service (these are also on the invoice you are sent from the FACTS system).

For Summer Camp, Holiday Camp or Enrichment Receipts::

Log in to the account used to register for Enrichment classes, holiday camp or summer camp.
After logging in, click the red button with the wording "View Registration Details"
On the next page find the section on the right titled "Financial" and click the hyperlink that reads "Download Printable Season Account Statement"

Program Overview and Important Policies

Explorers Before Care Wednesdays: Overview for All Grades

Explorers offers before-care starting at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesdays until the start of carpool.

Toddler, Beginner and Pre- K Early Morning Explorers will be in the below location on Wednesday mornings.

Students are housed in the Agora room in the Early Childhood.
Students must enter the main school entrance, be escorted by a parent or older sibling and sign in.
Students may play in centers such as coloring, blocks, puzzles and others.
Students are escorted by the Explorer teacher to their classroom at the start of carpool.

Kindergarten, LS & MS Explorers Before Care:

Students enter from the main school entrance and meet in the Commons, or school lunchroom
Students may finish homework, study or read, play games, color or socialize.
Students are released to their classrooms at the start of carpool.

Wednesday Late Arrival & Explorers Before Care:

On Wednesdays, we offer FREE care starting at 7:45 am for the entire school. See the descriptions on this page for specifics on the schedule.

Explorers After Care: Early Childhood Overview

After school, Explorers teachers greet Toddlers, Beginners and Pre-K students at their classrooms and escort them to a classroom where they enjoy playtime, nap time, activity centers, reading activities and games. Outdoor play is scheduled daily, weather permitting.

Toddlers, Beginners, and Pre-K students are housed in the Beginner, Pre-K and Agora room.

Toddlers & Beginners Daily Schedule

1:30 p.m. Pickup from their classrooms and check-in.
1:35 p.m. Bathroom break and prepare for nap time.
2:30 p.m. Carpool students wake up from a nap and gather belongings for departure.
3:15 p.m. Non carpool student wake up from nap, bathroom break.
3:40 p.m. Outdoor/Indoor play depending on the weather.
4:30 p.m. Organized games, centers or arts & crafts.
5:00 p.m. Last snack of the day.
5:30 p.m. Clean-up/storytime while waiting for pick up.

Pre-K Daily Schedule
1:30 p.m. Pick up from classrooms and check in.
1:35 p.m. Bathroom break and prepare for nap time.
2:35 p.m. Carpool students wake up from nap, gather belongings for departure.
3:15 p.m. Non carpool students wake up from nap, bathroom break.
3:40 p.m. Outdoor/Indoor play depending on the weather.
4:30 p.m. Organized games, centers or arts & crafts
5:00 p.m. Last snack of the day.
5:30 p.m. Clean-up/storytime while waiting for pick up.

Explorers After Care: K-8th Overview

Kindergarten, Elementary and Middle School Explorers meet after-school staff during the 3-o'clock hour. They enjoy a snack and some social time before working on homework or going to the library, computer lab or outside to play. Teachers supervise games, sports, outdoor play and other activities for the remainder of the afternoon.

Kindergarten - 8th grade Daily Schedule
3:15 p.m. Check-in and snack time.
3:15 p.m. Study hall begins for those who have homework.
3:45 p.m. Outdoor/indoor play for those who have finished homework.
4:30 p.m. Study Hall ends, but students may continue working.
4:45 p.m. Quiet play, organized activities, games, free play or outside play.
5:00 p.m. Last snack of the day.
5:15 p.m. Continued play or time for homework until pick up.
