Open House

Each PTO committee offers parents opportunities to volunteer outside the classroom. There are nearly 40 different events and programs throughout the year, with varying time commitments.   • Community Rebate

    St. Martin's participates in retail rebate programs such as Boxtops 4 Education, Amazon Smile, and Publix cards to raise funds for the school.
  • Cookies & Carols

    A December event for students celebrating the Christmas season with singing, cookies and Santa. Volunteers bake cookies or pass out treats for this special day.
  • Fall Book Fair

    Each fall volunteers set up, break down and assist visiting classes and families with book purchases.
  • Fall Festival

    Parents make this exciting, carnival-like annual event held on the SMES campus a success.  Organizers handle vendor booking, event promotion and ticket sales as well as volunteer coordination.
  • Father Daughter Dance

    Our SMES daughters get to enjoy a night of dancing and fun with their dads and friends at SMES, and you can volunteer to help set up, check in, take photos and more.
  • Field Days (EC, ES)

    Each school has their own Field Day event in the Spring. Volunteer to help set up and work these always fun events.
  • Hospitality

    Support a variety of planned school functions by providing refreshments. Events include prospective parent open houses, School Sunday, and back-to-school and year-end teacher lunches. (year round)
  • Mother Son Event

    From Warrior games to Atlanta United games, every year we offer a different opportunity for moms and sons of SMES to spend some quality time together. Volunteer to help plan and implement this popular event.
  • Recycled Book Sale

    Sell back those old textbooks you won't need next year and purchase gently used ones for your child's upcoming year. Help with the organization and sale of these books.
  • Recycled Uniform Sale

    Several times a year gently used uniforms can be purchase for $5 a piece. 
  • Room Representative

    Help the teachers with running the parent side of their classroom by becoming a room representative! This most popular PTO role needs volunteers who pay attention to detail, can send out weekly emails and help the teachers with any requests they have. Sign up quickly as it fills up!
  • School Store

    The SMES school store sells spirit items and other merchandise during morning carpool and other events. Volunteer to work in the store.  (year round)
  • Spring Book Fair

    Each spring volunteers set up, break down and assist visiting classes and families with book purchases.
  • Teacher Appreciation

    Volunteers plan and support an assortment of teacher appreciation events throughout the school year: Spring Flowers, teacher birthdays and special meals. (year round)
  • Veterans Day

    This annual event honors SMES-affiliated and other U.S. veterans during a special celebration. Volunteers help decorate and coordinate. 
  • Warrior 5K & Fun Run

    The St. Martin's has partnered with ORION Racing to expand the annual school community 5K and Fun Run to include runners and families from the Brookhaven and Greater-Atlanta Community. This event will include a post-race celebration with music, food and drinks, and an award ceremony. Volunteers will help with set up/take down, registration, water stations, and managing traffic.
  • Warrior Wings

    Bakers and drivers support SMES families and staff during a time of need with a home-cooked meal. Whether a new baby or a death in the family, Warrior Wings is there to help.  (year round)
