The St. Martin’s graduate is...ready!

At St. Martin’s, preschool through eighth grade is more than school.  It’s an experience - a grand experience at that! One dedicated to graduating individuals readyto wholeheartedly embrace life. Through personalized attention, instruction and support SMES graduates have learned about the world and themselves through intellectual adventures, extracurricular opportunities and spiritual formation. And before leaving St. Martin’s, eighth graders celebrate in a big way with a class trip to the Grand Canyon.

By eighth grade graduation, students are ready to be active participants in choosing their high school. Each eighth grader and his/her parents meet with our High School Placement Director in private sessions to discuss the student's future and make recommendations for high school applications.

St. Martin’s guides the way through the process, coaches students for taking the  SSAT and prepares them for school interviews. In addition, SMES hosts many local independent schools to our campus for presentations to the 8th grade and holds an annual Boarding School Forum for students and their parents.

SMES graduates choose from Atlanta independent high schools, county schools, magnet programs and boarding schools.  Most 8th graders receive multiple acceptances to independent high schools, even when competing for admission to selective programs.
