St. Martin's Hosts Socially-Distanced Spelling Bee
St. Martin’s Episcopal School successfully hosted its annual Middle School Spelling Bee on Wednesday, Jan. 13 with COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
Contestants wore masks and practiced social distancing in the gym while their peers, teachers and parents tuned in to cheer them on via livestream. The 24 participants were selected by internal homeroom competitions leading up to the division-wide event.
After seven tough rounds, 6th-grade student Patrick Feagin spelled “voracious” to clench first place and 8th-grade student Drew Park took second.
Feagin and Park will move on to compete in the virtual Georgia Independent School Association Round One Spelling Bee scheduled for early February.
