• Explorers Before Care: Overview for all grades

  Explorers offers before care on a daily basis starting at 7:15 am until the start of carpool. We offer the option to enroll your student for the semester or utilize the care on a drop-in basis. The forms to do both can be found in the forms section of this site. 
  
  Toddler, Beginner and Pre Kindergarten Early Morning Explorers:
  

  • These students are held in a Toddler and Beginners room in the EC wing.
  • These students must enter the main school entrance and be escorted by a parent or older sibling and signed in.
    
  • Students have an opportunity to play in centers such as coloring, blocks, puzzles and the like.
  • At the start of carpool, the Explorer teacher escorts the students to their classroom.

  Kindergarten, ES & MS Explorers Before Care:
  

  • These students enter in the main school entrance and meet in the "Commons," or school lunchroom.
  • Students have an opportunity to finish homework, study or read as well as play games, color and socialize.
  • We release the students to their classrooms at the start of carpool. 

  Wednesday Late Arrival & Explorers Before Care:

  While we are open and available every day at 7:15 am on Wednesday we offer FREE care starting at 7:45 am for the entire school. There is no need to complete a drop-in form for late arrival day. See the descriptions above for specifics on the schedule.
  
  
  

• Explorers After Care: Early Childhood Overview

  After school, Explorers teachers greet Toddlers, Beginners and Pre-K students at their classrooms and escort them to a classroom where they will enjoy play time, nap time, activity centers, reading activities and games. Outdoor play is scheduled daily, weather permitting. 

  • Toddlers, Beginners, and Pre-K students are housed in the Beginner and PK classrooms.

  2:35pm      Carpool students wake up from nap, gather belongings for departure
  2:45 pm     Carpool students leave for 2:50 pm carpool
  3:05 pm     Mixed carpool students leave for 3:15 carpool
  3:15 pm     Non carpool student wake up from nap, bathroom break
  3:40 pm     Outdoor/Indoor play depending on weather
  4:30 pm     Organized games, centers or arts & crafts
  5:00 pm     Last snack of the day
  5:30 pm     Clean-up/Story time while waiting for pick up

• Explorers After Care: K-8th Overview

  Kindergarten, Elementary and Middle School Explorers meet after-school staff during the 3-o'clock hour. We house Kindergarten students in the EC wing in Kindergarten rooms and the older students in the Commons, where they enjoy a snack and some social time before working on homework or going to the library, computer lab or outside to play. Teachers supervise games, sports, outdoor play and other activities for the remainder of the afternoon.

  • Kindergarten students are housed from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in Kindergarten rooms then at 3:00 pm, Pre-K and Kindergarten students are combined until 6:00 pm.
  • 1st - 8th grade students are housed in the Commons until 6:00 pm.

  Kindergarten - 8th grade Daily Schedule
  
  3:15 pm     Check in and snack time
  3:15 pm     Study Hall starts for those who have homework
  3:45 pm     Outdoor/Indoor play for those who have finished homework
  4:30 pm     Study Hall ends but students who have work can continue working
  4:45 pm     Quiet play, organized activities, games or free play or outside play
  5:00 pm     Last snack of the day
  5:15 pm     Continued play or time for homework until pick up

  As part of the St. Martin’s Explorers Extended Day program registration, parents agreed to the Informed Consent Form.  A copy of the form can be found here.

  St. Martin's Episcopal School and Explorers Aftercare Program are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell or pass along any personal information. Names, addresses and other identifying information that you provide is used by St. Martin's Episcopal School solely to process Enrichment Fees and/or St. Martin's Camp Fees. Your credit card information is not retained as the result of any of these processes.
